New Patients

At Powell Chiropractic Health Center our priority is our patients. While visiting the chiropractor is similar to visiting other healthcare providers, chiropractic care does encompass some unique elements. Let’s take a look at how your first visit will go.

Appointment Set Up and Paperwork

When you call our office to set up your first appointment, we will gather information from you, including your insurance information (we are currently only in-network with Medicare). After your account is set up we will send you a secure email to fill out the new patient paperwork. Once you have completed the paperwork and submit it online, we will receive it electronically and prepare for your arrival. If you are being seen due to an auto accident we will require information pertaining to your claim. Please make sure you fill out all information to the best of your ability.

Don’t have the resources to complete the paperwork online? No worries! We can have you come into the office early to do it on one of our electronic devices.

Initial Exam and Treatment

During your initial visit, we will give you a tour of our office, go over your paperwork and reason for visit, and also provide a complimentary foot scan (more on that later). After your initial assessment the doctor will determine if you need x-rays (we do them in our office), and then do a further evaluation. Great News! Once the exam is complete, the doctor will do your first adjustment! Some chiropractors do not do an adjustment on the first visit, but we want to see you get results and start feeling better as quickly as possible. If this is your first time getting an adjustment, you may not know what to expect. That’s ok! Dr. Powell will guide you through the entire process, explain everything he is doing, and most importantly, he will make sure you are comfortable during the entire visit.

Treatment Plan and Goals for Your Future

It is not uncommon for your chiropractor to recommend multiple sessions. If you have chronic pain, a high level of discomfort, or bear multiple issues at once, you will likely need ongoing care. This can mean regular weekly sessions, reduced to monthly, with the ultimate goal of ongoing care only as needed. We will take into consideration your overall health, physical condition, and goals to create a treatment plan. Whether you are trying to stay out of pain, create a new lifestyle with diet, exercise, and chiropractic care, we are here for you.
